Welcome to Centennial
The City of Centennial was incorporated and formed in 2001 from portions of unincorporated Arapahoe County. Its name reflects Colorado’s admission to the Union in 1876, the centennial year of the United States Declaration of Independence, thereby giving Colorado its nickname, the “Centennial State.” Centennial spreads over 28 acres and is home to over 100,000 residents. Centennial is said to have something for everyone, offering parks, open spaces, recreational trails (including the Highline Canal), two excellent school systems, and advanced business opportunities. The City’s landscape boasts extensive open spaces, scenic mountain vistas, native wildlife, and connections to some of the region’s most impressive trail networks and recreational amenities.
